ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) disgruntled leader Nisar Ali Khan on Monday said that he opposed the party’s standpoint against the Supreme Court.
“I was the only one to speak against PML-N’s political standpoint against the SC. The court’s decisions should be implemented and accepted, rather than being scrutinised,” Nisar said speaking to the media in Islamabad.
Speaking about his relationship with Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan, Nisar said that he knows Khan since his school days and that he had already told Nawaz Sharif that he would not criticise Imran on personal grounds.
“When there is nothing to say against me, it is said that I am friends with Imran Khan. I have already told Nawaz that I would not criticise Imran’s personal life, rather only his political point of views,” Nisar added.
The former interior minister also lauded Raza Rabbani for leading Senate during tough times. “If PML-N wanted to put forward Rabbani’s name as a candidate, they should not have revealed it so early,” he continued.
Nisar also said that the Shehbaz Sharif would not work as a ‘puppet’ and if the Punjab chief minister is allowed to work, he will succeed.
The former interior minister also stated that he would quit PML-N the day Maryam Nawaz is made its spearhead.
