ISLAMABAD: Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi said while addressing the Senate, “Pakistan desires to improve its bilateral relations with the US.”
“Weightage will be given to the opinion of people and its elected representatives while taking forward relations with Washington,” he added, “The conversation between PM Imran and Pompeo was cordial and constructive in nature.”
This dialogue was triggered when Pakistan People’s Party’s (PPP) Raza Rabbani prompted the topic by asking about the telephonic call between PM Imran and US Secretary of State Michael Pompeo.
“Political differences should be kept aside on national security and foreign policy matters,” he noted.
