According to the notification issued by Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP), re-polling in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s constituency Shangla PK-23 would be held on September 10th.
The voting results in the constituency were initially terminated because of low women voter turnout. ECP decided to have a re-polling in the constituency in which Shaukat Ali of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf(PTI) was declared victorious.
The top electoral body also summoned Pakistan Army to ensure a free, fair and transparent election in the constituency.
Officials of the army will be stationed in the area from September 8-11.
According to the initial results Only 3,500 out of 86,698 women casted their votes in the constituency, whereas, the number of male voters were 66,000 out of 1,14,000 men, resulting in a 34 per cent total turnout.
