The head of the Panama case joint investigation team (JIT) constituted on the orders of the Supreme Court, Wajid Zia, Thursday informed the accountability court that no bank account of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) supremo and former prime minister Nawaz Sharif could be traced through which money was transferred abroad.
Zia made these remarks as Nawaz Sharif’s counsel Khawaja Harris continued to cross-examine the former during hearing of the case pertaining to Flagship Investment reference.
As the hearing resumed, Khawaja Harris asked Zia if Nawaz Sharif had made investment in the Flagship Investment. He inquired whether there is any document available which proves that investment was made by Nawaz Sharif. He also inquired whether the JIT had found any such bank account which proved transfer of money from Pakistan for setting up the company.
To this, Zia replied, “JIT had not found any such document or bank account.””Also, no witness had given testimony that Nawaz Sharif had helped him/her in formation of the company,” he said.
